Eric Milner-White Court is composed of two blocks, both situated across the lake from Vanbrugh nucleus. I represent the 120+ students who live in Eric A, the largest detached Vanbrugh Block. Eric A is ideally situated, within an easy two minutes walking distance of Vanbrugh nucleus, the JCR and the Sports Centre, and only five minutes from the Library and most Departments on campus. Layout of the Block
The Block is spread over 3 floors with a smaller 4th floor at one end. Each floor has around 40 bedrooms, (with 4 bedrooms on the top floor) one large kitchen, and 3 smaller kitchens. Each corridor has access to two toilets; one shower and one bath, but don't worry about them getting grimy as they are cleaned daily by our superb cleaners (something en-suites don't get!). Furthermore, unlike other accommodation, each floor has their own dining room, a decent size room perfect for communal meals, and infamous Block parties!Community Spirit
Eric A is the largest detached Vanbrugh Block so is renowned for its vibrant College spirit with large numbers of students taking part in all Vanbrugh events. Despite the large numbers, Eric A also has an incredibly warm community spirit, which is partly due to the kitchens which break up the Block into smaller close-knit sections. I’ve certainly found that my closest friends are those I share a kitchen and corridor with, however as Eric A key cards allow access for the entirety of the Block, it is very easy to make friends from other floors! So really we have the best of both worlds, hence why Eric A was voted the best Block at the Vanbrugh Winter Ball!!Upcoming Events
